Closures
Holidays: We are closed on national holidays to allow our hard-working staff to celebrate with their families. These include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
The Hopkins Planetarium: Alas, our beloved planetarium has experienced a technical issue of galactic proportions. It is currently unavailable for museum visitors. But fear not! Plans for an exciting new exhibit to transform the space are underway and – believe us – will absolutely be worth the wait!
Admission rates
Admission gives you access to all our exhibits on the fourth and fifth floors, including our Hidden Garden, until 5pm on the day of purchase.

The Science Museum of Western Virginia is located on the fourth and fifth floors of the Center in the Square Building in Downtown Roanoke.
