Create the best birthday experience by bringing them to the Science Museum of Western Virginia! With a diverse choice of birthday party themes and exciting exhibits to explore, your child and their guests will be entertained all day long.

Birthdays at the Science Museum take place on Saturdays and Sundays only. Select your chosen date and time to check availability and then choose your desired Birthday Package and Unique Activity, if applicable. Once you have completed your registration, you will be prompted to pay a $50 non-refundable deposit to secure your booking.

Maker Lab

Animal Demo Add On

Includes a personalized animal demonstration, allowing party guests to meet ambassadors from the Living Collections Department. 
On the day of the event, the Birthday Party Attendant & Living Collections Attendant will coordinate with the party host to curate the best animal demonstration experience! Can be added on to any birthday party for $30.

Explore the wide world of chemical reactions with this totally groovy theme! Includes a Lava Lamp-making experiment. Each child makes their own creation to take home!

Bring out your child’s innner Dino-expertise with this fun theme! Attendees make their own dinosaur eggs and Jurassic slime.

Something STEM-based is brewing with this party theme! Magic-themed activities such as making light-up wands and witches brew.
