Available Discounts
We offer a additional 10% discount on memberships to Students and Seniors (+60yrs). Educators receive a 20% discount on all membership sales.
Discounts are only available on purchases at our front desk. Please bring a valid I.D. with you to receive discounts.
Please note: The Science Museum of Western Virginia no longer requires membership cards for admission. Simply present one form of identification to validate your membership at our front desk upon entering.
MEMBERSHIP GUIDELINES
The Science Museum of Western Virginia is committed to providing an interactive, and fun learning experience. Your contribution and support will assist in educating a large part of the Roanoke (and surrounding) area! In order to continue to provide a safe learning platform, we ask that in addition to museum guidelines, you comply with membership rules. The Science Museum of Western Virginia reserves the right to suspend, revoke and/or ban members if they fail to comply with guidelines.
- All memberships are non-transferable.
- No refunds will be made on membership purchases.
- Primary members must be at least 16 years of age with proof of identification.
- The primary member will be the person to whom all correspondences are sent.
- Membership cards may only have two primary adults listed on card.
- Gifted Memberships must be redeemed within 3 months of purchase.
ASTC PASSPORT PACKAGE

The passport package is just $30 and gives you reciprocal admission to over 300 science centers worldwide through the partnership with the Association of Science-Technology Centers’ (ASTC) Travel Passport Program. Not only can you enjoy discounted admission to the Science Museum of Western Virginia, you get free or discounted admission to science centers while you travel!

ASTC Guidelines
- Discounts are only applicable to membership holders & their household.
- No additional free entrances may be used, even if a Memberships with multiple individuals listed on account.
- Discounts are not applicable to special exhibits (i.e parakeet garden), or special events.
- Discounts may not be stacked with any other running discounts, coupons or special offers.
- You must have your membership card with you.
- The membership card must be in your name.
- You must present a photo ID.
- The expiration date on the membership card must be valid.
- Please note that there will be no exceptions applied unless prior authorization of a managerial staff member is provided.
