Summer Camp registration is a two-part process: 1) Camper Registration and 2) Payment. Both can be done online using the above link.
Once camper registration is completed, you’ll be invited to pay either by check or using the online payment option.
A generous grant from The Spetzler Fund of the Foundation for Roanoke Valley provides 5 full scholarships to families who cannot afford camp tuition.
July 7-11: “Sci-cation” Camp
Science can go with you on vacation! Have fun discovering the science of the beach, theme parks, and many other fun-filled destinations! We don’t go there during camp, but be assured your little one will tell you all about it next time you go!
In order to group children who are closer in age, our K-5 camps are divided into two sections: 1) rising Kindergarten to 2nd Graders and; 2) rising 3rd to 5th Grade. However, if either section has fewer than 8 children, then the sections will be combined for that week of camp.

Create your own hypothesis and put it to the test! Boost knowledge by finding answers in your own science experiments. This camp includes a field trip to experiment outside of the museum.
June 23-27: Backyard Bugs & Beasts
What plants and animals live in your neighborhood? Become a backyard naturalist while we uncover mysteries of plants, bugs, and other animals that live nearby and far away! What does nature do all day, anyway? We’ll take a field trip to find out.

NEW THIS YEAR: Mini-Camp for the short July 4th week! Women have been advancing science for decades, now it’s your turn! In this girls-only camp, you will be able to explore the work of famous women scientists and get a head-start with hands-on experience. You can do science; with us, you’ll do science louder!

Before and After Care is only for K-8. Cost is $30/week for Before or After, $50/week for both.

Summer Camp Cancellation and Refund Policy
Should you wish to withdraw a child from any camp session, you may apply that child’s registration to another session of camp, provided that space in that session is available. If you do not wish to transfer into another camp session, the following refund policy will be in effect:

The Science Museum of Western Virginia also reserves the right to cancel any camp session that does not meet a minimum number of registered campers, with advanced notice and full refunds given to anyone registered for such a session.
