Science Museum Admission Passes to Benefit Your Organization

The Science Museum of Western Virginia is pleased to support activities that benefit schools (including PTAs), and non-profit 501 (c)(3) organizations in our service region through the donation of Museum admission passes. Each school or organization may request up to four one-time admission passes per calendar year.
We cannot donate memberships, or tickets to Megadome films. If you are interested in bringing your group to the Museum, click here for group tour information.
While we would like to grant all requests, as a non-profit organization, the Science Museum must limit the number of donated passes. We have established an annual maximum, and qualified requests will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, while the supply lasts. After the supply of free admission passes is exhausted, organizations may request "one free child with a paying adult" passes.
In order to allow for suffient time to process your request, all requests must be received at least four weeks in advance of when you need the passes. We will respond to all written requests that adhere to the following requirements. To make a donation request, you must submit a request in writing printed on the school's or organization's official letterhead. Each request must state:
  • Name of the organization
    1. If a school, identify the school district or if private, any affiliation. Does your school visit the Museum?
    2. If a 501 (c)(3) organization, list its tax ID number
  • Number of passes requested (up to four)
  • Date passes are needed (please allow four weeks for processing
  • Very briefly describe how the passes will be used (50 words or less)
  • Name, daytime phone number, and email address of one specific contact person.
    Enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope. Passes will only be mailed directed to the school or organization, not to the home address of any employee or volunteer.
